Olay Total Effects

 This is sponsored content from BlogHer and Olay.

I was asked by BlogHer and Olay to review their newest product “Total Effects”.  Because I am undergoing skin changes, both with pregnancy and aging (I’m about to hit the 40’s), my skin is in need of some help!
I have never had a skin care regimen. I know I have needed one - especially as I have entered my 30’s but I find it hard and time consuming to put several things on every night. I can’t seem to remember or I’m too tired to do it.
So I was excited to try this new product because it has 7 things in one!
* Line minimization
* Cooling moisturization (and going into winter - I really need that!)
* Energizes apperance (if anyone needs some energizing to their skin - it’s me!)
* Gentle Exfoliation
* Pore refinement (I have HUGE pores so this is a big one to me)
* Free radical defence
*Subtle lifting (and if only this would work on ALL the body. Ha!)

I’ve only used the product for a few days but I already feel like my skin looks better! I’m going to be posting for 4 weeks - so I’ll let you know if I actually see improvement or not!

I’d love to hear about your skin care regimen or if you don’t have one - how does this all in one product sound???

My skincare routine is very basic. I have tried some more expensive lines and felt like the results didn't line up with what I paid for. I try to stick with drugstore brands now since I feel like I can find just as good of a product there. I just use a cleanser and a moisturizer...that's it. I find if there are too many steps I won't follow through with it.

I wash my face with Clinque soap and use Olay Regenerist for mositure. I'm in my upper 30s too....so I need extra help with keeping the lines away, so the Olay helps with that too! I use Clinque makeup because other ones make my face break out and dry out all at the same time. I saw the ad on TV for the new Olay total effects and may try it after my regenerist runs out.

I have entered my 30's and know I need to do some sort of skincare, but I am terrible at remember to even take off my makeup. I do use moisturizer, but that's it. Maybe I should try this new product.

My big skin care issue is dryness. Now that I'm close to 40 I never skip a day without moisturizer (w/sunscreen).

LStewart said...

I honestly do not have a skin care routine. It seems that I'm the last one to take care of ME and by the time everyone else is cared for and in their proper place I'm too tired to do anything for myself. Having an all in one routine may be doable though. I'll have to give it some thought.

I never had a skin care regime until recently. I'll be 28 in a few months but for a few months my face had been breaking out like I was 16! I would love this Olay product though to help keeping my face moisturized! :)

I have tried alot of different skin care products such as Cindy Crawford's Meaningful Beauty, Merle Norman, Clinique, Avon and several others. There are some from each line that I love. I have never tried this product but Im always willing to try anything that helps the skin and helps to prevent the aging process. I always do use the Olay Body Wash and the Olay Age Defeying Lotion which are excellent product that I will keep using. I am one that when I find something I love I tell all my friends and family. I hope that I get to try this new product and hope that I win!

thanks for reviewing this product. I look forward to hearing more about what you think of it.
Currently I don't have a regmine but have been looking for one that helps with wrinkles since I HATE the ones I have on my forehead.

Since having my appendix out 4 weeks ago I've seen changes to my skin that I hate as well so this may really help with everything that's going on.

Do you just use it at night or do you have to use it twice a day?

My mom swears by Oil of Olay too and just got me some hand lotion yesterday to try. My hands get so dry at this time of the year and the lotion is helping out already!

I'm really picky about what I use on my skin because it's so sensitive. Currently, I use neutragena make-up removing clothes, wash my face with Cetaphil and a facial scrubber, sometimes I use toner (sometimes my skin is too dry) and then follow up with either moisturizer or ProActive repairing lotion. This keeps the outbreaks to a minimum and I don't develop rashes since I'm already familiar with the products.

I love Olay! My mother swears by their products and introduced me to them at an early age. I've seen the seven effects product, but have yet to use it. So, I'm excited to see what you think of it. I use their daily mosturizer, foam face cleanser and their nighttime mosturizer cream. My skin care routine is quite basic. I wash my face each morning followed by mosturizer and the same at night. I'm with you when you say you just don't have time for an extensive routine. I do use witch hazel every couple of days as an astrigent though. Looking forward to your review!

I really hate to admit it.... but all I seem to make time for is washing with soap... I tried the Arbonne set but I hated spending that much money on something I more than regularly skipped.... Sad, I know!

At night, I love to use Olay face wash wipes. They are incredibly easy to use...they come dry and all you have to do is run them under warm water to work up a lather. I love them because they are easy to pack when traveling, not having to worry about the liquid rules and leaking in my suitcase! I also love to use them at night because they remove eye makeup beautifully. As far as moisturizer, I would like to try ths product, but I find Philosophy's "Hope in a jar" is very nice...especially in the winter.

Thanks for the chance...I love your blog! :)

Wow, your skin always looks great.
I don't do anything fancy, just soap & H2O.

very cool giveaway.

would be interested to see just how much of a noticeable difference this product produces...i'm always skeptical about whether or not they really work.

One product that helps my skin would be great. I have bought products in the past but if there are to many steps I don't take the time to use them.

Having already hit my 40's and soon to hit the 50's, it would be great to try a product like this. Everything you need in one product sounds just right! Thanks for sharing!

My skin care is basic. Wash and moisture. I do try to do a peel every 2 weekd. I am mid-50's. And the peel really does make a difference. I like the 2 step Olay one.

My skin care routine is awful! ha! I use plain old soap. I'm getting older so I need to start taking better care of my skin! Would love to try this!

I need a skin care regimen! I've been rocking the same moisturizing for what feels like decades and my skin is not the happiest it has ever been.

Now that I'm 50, I REALLY need to start taking better care of my skin. Olay has a great reputation and I would love to try it. I too love how one product does it all!

this one sounds too good to be true, so i'd love to hear the results!

i'm in my late twenties, and just started using wrinkle cream after i shower with a facial cleanser about a year ago. i found out some of my friends had been using wrinkle cream instead of normal facial lotion for awhile as a preventative measure. eek! so, now i'm on board. that's about the extent of my regimen.

Looks like a great product with everything all in one! :)

My skin care is pretty basic, too. I use glycerin soap on my face to wash, make-up remover...when I use make-up. Then I use olay lotion when I remember to use it.

i have been using origins for about 8 months and am loving it! i used to try all sorts of skin care programs always looking for one that would work on my oily skin. finally i just decided to invest in a whole line that i really believed in and that's what i did. i wash with the checks and balances, then apply the organic toner, then the white tea skin guardian (which feels like silk on your face!), moisturizer (can't remember the name) and finally the ginzeng eye cream.
you only have to use tiny amounts of each product and i just recently ran out of some things--it lasted me 8 months!
i'm very happy with it!

Im only 21 and dont have wrinkles yet but I started the skin care early to minimize the future wrinkles! :) I highly encourage everyone to check out their website at www.arbonne.com for more information!!

I would love to win this! I am about to turn 31, which I know isn't old or anything, but having not ever really done much to take care of my skin, I feel like I look older than I am. I have fine lines (ugh!)and huge pores. I spent 10 years smoking on and off (I know, I know...). I used to go tanning. I am not great about remembering sunscreen for everyday. I have definitely been hard on my skin, so I know it is time to get my tush in gear and treat my skin nicely!
Thanks for the chance to win!

You and I sound a lot alike in our skin care regimen. I don't even wash my face at night. I'm game for anything that makes it easier. Thanks for the chance.
